Recorded Webinar on Community College and Industry Partnerships in Transportation Industry

Kipp Snow, Instructional Specialist at one of the SMART Center's partner colleges - Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) - spoke at a webinar sponsored by the Northeast Transportation Workforce Center (NETWC) at the Vermont Transportation Research Center. Click here to view a live recording of the "Partners in Transportation Workforce Solutions: Community Colleges and Employers" webinar, which focused on increasing the effectiveness of the relationship between community colleges and employers in advancing long-term transportation research development. The webinar provided useful information for both community colleges working to engage students in transportation academic pathways as well as employers looking to create effective partnerships with colleges to employ future, well-equipped graduates.

Kipp has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the Transportation, Logistics, and Cargo Security Program at AACC. The program's career pathway prepares students for employment in transportation and logistics industry and enhances the knowledge and skill base of existing industry employees. During the webinar he spoke on academic and career pathways in the transportation industry and the important link between education and the local transportation industry in the Baltimore, Maryland region. AACC is a key partner for the SMART Center, assisting in development of effective outreach efforts to educators and counselors who impact students, as well as development of career pathways for the port operations and port-based logistics segment of the maritime and transportation industry.
